Happy New Year! As 2026 gets underway, Rob Clooney has set his sights on a busy and productive year ahead. His goals include completing his collegiate journey by earning his bachelorâs degree, publishing several new books, and grinding out a few more matches inside the ring. While Rob is currently nursing an injury, he remains optimistic about returning to in-ring competition by the summer. In the meantime, he stays active as a volunteer wrestling coach, continues developing multiple writing projects, and has even been jotting down ideas for a few parody jingles along the way.
đ€Œââïž MPWA Fundraiser for Monroe Wrestling Club
The Midwest Professional Wrestling Associationâs (MPWA) annual Christmas fundraiser for the Monroe High School Wrestling Team was a success. As a volunteer wrestling coach, Rob Clooney competed in the over-the-top Coaches Battle Royalâand emerged victorious. Rob is already looking forward to taking part in next yearâs fundraising event.
⥠Thunderstruck Wrestlingâs Debut Tournament
Rob also appeared during the debut weekend of Thunderstruck Wrestling as part of the Rouge Days Festival in River Rouge, Michigan. Although he came up short in his bid to become the first Thunderstruck Wrestling Champion, Rob delivered a standout performance in the Rouge Rumble, appearing to have the match won before a controversial decision altered the outcome. Rob has formally petitioned the Thunderstruck Wrestling committee to review the results of the Rouge Rumble, and a decision is currently pending.
